Urban Wedding Photography - Qatanna and Doug at Lan Su Chinese Garden and Cooper's Hall

This was a long but truly fantastic day. Qatanna and Doug met their families early at Lan Su Chinese Garden in downtown Portland, before it opened, so that we could have it to ourselves for photos. Then it was back home for a beautiful and intimate backyard wedding ceremony with their closest friends and families (this was the first time I had the pleasure of shooting a backyard wedding, and there's something so magical about it!).

Then we took a little lunch break before heading to Cooper's Hall for a ridiculously fun reception, complete with great drinks, amazing food, and an absurd number of macarons from Pix Patisserie. I've had my eye on Cooper's Hall for a while - I love the light and the high ceilings and the simple plants-and-wine-barrel decor, and it didn't disappoint. It's really a wonderful venue to photograph inside. Add lots more drinks, and photobooth fun, and a homemade bride-and-groom piñata (brought a friend of the couple), and so much dancing - it was really all you could ask of a wedding reception. Doug and Qatanna really know how to throw a party. Thanks, you two, for making me a part of it!
