Erica and Karl and their families traveled all the way from Wisconsin to get married at the beautiful Lan Su Chinese Garden in Downtown Portland. It was during a heatwave weekend here in Portland (the weather report predicted 106 degrees that day!), but luckily their wedding was scheduled for 8am, before the garden opened to the public – this meant not only less heat, but some nice cloud cover, which makes this photographer really happy (such beautiful, flattering light!) It was lovely to meet their families and witness their beautiful ceremony. It was also great to work once again with their lovely officiant, Rev. Maureen Haley, who is always a delight.
So happy to share this lovely Ponzi Historic Estate wedding! The beautiful venue, delicious food, happy couple and their lovely family and friends all made for a fantastic day. And such cute little kids! Ponzi’s staff was so helpful and accommodating, especially with the little ones.
This season, I’m excited to be photographing so many weddings in new, unique venues, and the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Oregon didn’t disappoint. Set against a backdrop of vintage airplanes (including Howard Hugh’s giant Spruce Goose), this wedding really had it all – a beautiful, happy couple, adorable friends and family, beautiful, photogenic details, bright colors, and gorgeous light. Such a delight to photograph, and exciting to be a part of!
This lovely couple drove all the way up to Portland from Eugene for a little engagement photography session in NoPo’s beautiful Cathedral Park, and I’m so glad they did! One of the things Signe and I had chatted about before the shoot was that she and Aaron are big readers, so they wanted to incorporate some books into the session. They brought along some beautifully-bound copies of a couple of their favorites and we had a little fun. The shots of them reading beneath the St. John’s Bridge are some of my favorites! Congratulations, you two, on your engagement and your graduations — best of luck with the big move and starting your life together! It sounds like it’s going to be epic.
I can’t get enough of the gorgeous golden-hour light from this recent Portland Waterfront engagement session. Liz and Zachary were so much fun to walk around and shoot with on the Eastbank Esplanade – not at all shy about being love-y or goofy or downright adorable – and even more dog-crazy than I am (I wasn’t sure it was possible, but it is). I can’t wait to photograph their wedding later this month!
So excited to share these lovely photos from Piper and Cody’s recent Abernethy Center wedding in beautiful Abigail’s Garden! There was just a little bit of a mist of rain on their wedding day, but they didn’t let it bother them at all – it was a fantastic day filled with family, friends, and lots of love. And the dancing! I haven’t seen such enthusiastic dancing wedding guests in quite a while – such fun. Congratulations to Piper and Cody on a beautiful event!
I’ve been spending a lot of time lately in beautiful Cathedral Park, under the iconic St. John’s Bridge in North Portland, and I can’t say I’m tired of it yet. Maybe it’s because every time I go there, there’s a beautiful new spot in bloom, or that I somehow hadn’t noticed before (like the lovely white flowers in the photo above), or maybe it’s because every time I visit I get to spend time with new lovely photography clients. It could also be the great light and that handsome bridge. At any rate, Meagan and Cody drove down from Seattle to visit their venue, taste some cake, and spend a couple hours with me and my camera in the lovely golden-hour light. I hope they had as much fun in their visit as I had shooting with them!
Sisters! They’re just the cutest. After heading down to Eugene a few weeks ago for their maternity session, I was so excited to visit again with this adorable little family to get some photos with their newest addition. I loved photographing these two cuties together, and I’m looking forward to watching baby Mayda grow throughout the year!
