Sneak Peek from yesterday's amazing Sauvie Island wedding: sometimes you just have those days where the couple is easy, the light is amazing, and everything just comes together. Yesterday was one of those days.
There's something so special about a very intimate wedding. Kat and Kealan traveled all the way from Philly to have a very tiny wedding ceremony here in beautiful Portland, Oregon, and it felt really special to be a part of it. It was just the bride and groom, the lovely Maureen Haley officiating, and me and my assistant . . .
I'm so excited to share Michael + Jessica's beautiful Mt. Hood Bed + Breakfast wedding. From the gorgeous floral arrangements by the bride's mother (with help from family and friends), to the lovely, personal ceremony officiated by a close friend of the family, the event was clearly a labor of love. Add in great food and drinks, amazing music by DJ Jimbo, and the fantastic coordinating efforts of the lovely Alexis Frasier Gearheart (whom I've worked with now several times since photographing her lovely wedding many years ago), and the result is an amazing event!
Paula and Mike wanted an industrial feel for their engagement session, and they had their first date at a coffee shop, so Paula found the lovely Ristretto Roasters at the Schoolhouse Electric Building in the NW industrial area. I love the exposed beams and open space there, paired with the vintage-style fixtures from Schoolhouse Electric. So many fun options for me! Afterwards we went to Tanner Springs - a city park with an industrial feel - to finish out the session. I couldn't be happier with the way the photos turned out, and I look forward to their wedding later this year!
It's always such a pleasure to shoot at Bridal Veil Lakes in the Columbia River Gorge near Portland, Oregon, and Sam + Melissa's beautiful wedding was no exception. These two families know each other very well, in the way that only families of high school sweethearts can, so it was truly lovely to see them come together to celebrate their shared history and a new marriage
Jessica contacted me last year after after looking through my portfolio and realizing that TWO of her coworkers were either a bride or groom in my past weddings. It's funny how much Portland can feel like such a small town sometimes. Anyway, I can't wait to share this beautiful Mt.
