I’ve been looking forward to Katie and Eric’s wedding all summer! I knew from their engagement session that they would be great fun to photograph on their wedding day. I’ve also been looking forward to my first opportunity to shoot at the EcoTrust’s new Eastside location, the Redd on Salmon. I was definitely not disappointed on either count. . .
Maybe the best part of being a wedding photographer is when I get to be there for weddings of friends who are otherwise not really inviting friends. Mieke and Tymon eloped in Bend a few weekends ago with just family and their officiant present, and I was so happy to be a part of it! I’ve known Mieke since her twins were just babies. . .
Charlotte and Paul found me just a few weeks before their wedding and I just happened to have their date free. I’m so glad I did, because this wedding was so beautiful and heartfelt - I was so glad to be a part of their very special day. From their intimate morning ceremony amidst the quiet of the giant redwoods in Hoyt Arboretum, to the post-ceremony brunch in the wedding meadow, to their lively, fun backyard reception, every part of the day was warm and thoughtful. . .
Jason and Patrick’s backyard wedding was so wonderful! They asked their guests to wear blue, yellow, and white, and planted their garden to match, making their sun-filled yard a photographer’s dream. Add in mimosas, lovely brunch, bubbles, and a bunch of adorable kids, and what fun we had. Also, their touching, personal ceremony had tears in all the eyes. It was such a lovely day. . .
Jenny and Charlie’s Edgefield Wedding was such fun! I always enjoy seeing how a wedding day comes together with the help of friends and family, and this day came together with a lot of laughter and good spirits. Not to mention a literal ton of flowers. So many flowers! . . .
I photographed this engagement session the evening before leaving on a three week, three-country, two-continent trip. Katie and Eric don’t live in Portland, so this was our one shot to get together for some photos before their September wedding. I’m so glad we were able to make it work because I absolutely love the photos we made together. . .
It was such a delight to be a part of Danielle + Chase’s wedding! I love this couple, I love the Silcox Hut, I love photographing in the snow, I love all the thoughtful details, I love the sword arch at the end of the ceremony, I love the delicious food up at the hut… it was just the best.
Special shout out to the groom’s mother, Candy, who had a hand in so many of these beautiful details, from the bride’s gorgeous sweater, which she knitted with her mother, to the ribbons and runners and wrap made from the family tartan, to managing to track down one of 80 limited-edition Friends of Timberline Collector’s Pendelton Blankets for beautiful photos in the snow. It’s amazing to see the obvious love and care that goes into a wedding like this one. . .
I had such an amazing afternoon with these two for a windy but beautiful engagement session at Cape Kiwanda on the Oregon Coast. I’ve always loved this spot, with its gorgeous rock formations and stunning views from the top of the dunes, and I was so excited when John and Paulina suggested it for their engagement photos. There’s no better way to spend a sunset on the Pacific Ocean. . .
